Reading about power, not just packets

This month I’m focused on understanding the power side of data centers — how a facility pulls tens of megawatts, why cooling is the hard part, and what “PUE” actually measures. I keep realizing the interesting problems are physical, not just software.

Reading: a mix of blog posts from people who operate infrastructure, plus whatever I can find about how hyperscalers plan capacity. (See the Learning page for the running list.)

Thinking about: whether I should try to visit or intern somewhere that runs real infrastructure, instead of only reading about it.

Not going well: I start too many things. Trying to finish one before starting the next.
